We did a round up of eco-friendly play dough a while back, which was great fun. But we never really touched on other art supplies that are lurking in our cabinets. I'll admit I have my fair share of the good old traditional stuff like Crayola crayons, and markers. But when it comes to paint I was a little more leery of what was in them and whether rinsing that stuff down the sink was bad for the environment. more...

Eco dough is the most requested activity of the day! We've also been fingerpainting and enjoying his bright orange creations. Both the eco fingerpaint and eco dough keep him occupied for at least a half hour or more! more...

If you want an alternative to commercial doughs, check out Eco-Kids' Eco-Dough which is made with plant, fruit and veggie extracts and packaged in compostable cornstarch containers. Plus, it doesn't dry out like other doughs and can be softened with olive oil. If your child is allergic to gluten, soy or dairy, you can order special versions for them.
